Hello! My name is Jesse Simpson and I’m a Leadership and Life Coach with Ama La Vida. I’m a former US Marine and firefighter, kickboxing instructor and personal trainer, with a passion for helping others overcome adversity and take action towards their dreams. I’m a fitness enthusiast, avid volunteer and world traveler that believes the best measures of a life well lived are how much you give, how much you grow and how much you go! I’m inspired by the people I’ve met around the world who’ve shown me there’s nothing we can’t accomplish if we have the right tools, techniques, and team in our corner.
Thanks for stopping by! It’s exciting to see that you are exploring coaching as a way of bringing out the best version of yourself. I know it would be easy to continue down the same path, so I’m happy to know that you’ve realized you want something more. Below is a bit more about my background and experiences to help you determine if we’d be a good fit moving forward.
Over four years in the Marines, I learned the fundamentals of leadership and resiliency, and the power of teamwork and discipline. Shortly after separating from the Marines, I decided to continue my education and discovered a passion for volunteering and coaching. I learned the power of routine and the importance of effective time-management and self-care as I balanced a full-time career as a firefighter and worked to complete my undergraduate studies. I call upon this experience to help clients find balance, energy and manage stress. Right after graduation, I founded a nonprofit structured around a leadership and resiliency training program serving veterans and “at-risk” youth which provided first-hand insights into business development, leadership, management, and human psychology.
After the closing of the nonprofit and the realization that there had to be more to life, I walked away from what I once thought was my dream career to take a trip around the world. Now, after nearly a year of backpacking abroad, I’m returning with the insights, ideas, and inspiration to focus my energy on helping clients create a life that they love. I’ve spent hundreds of hours volunteering, coaching and mentoring individuals spanning all generations, from all across the country and world. I’ve found purpose and passion in service to others which is what leads me here to you.
On a personal note, I’m equal parts bungee jumper and book reader, weight lifter and yoga practitioner. I love traveling, hiking, beaches, sunshine, trampolines, all things adventure and Labradoodles but nothing beats good coffee and great conversation. When I think of things that give life the most meaning I think of the potential each of us has to chase after crazy childhood dreams and to change a stranger’s life with a smile. A 12-year-old once told me, “we only have this one life to live, so it’s our job to make the most of it while we still can.” I believe no truer words have ever been said.
I’m happy to be here and I welcome the opportunity to hear your story.
I believe that everything you need to lead a happy, engaging and fulfilling personal and professional life is already inside of you. My job as a coach is to help you see that for yourself. I use a holistic approach to performance coaching to help you realize your truest potential and perform at the highest level. To gain clarity of purpose and a better understanding of who you are, we’ll start out with assessments and evaluations to learn more about what makes you unique. We’ll address your behaviors, beliefs, assumptions, and motivations to learn more about what makes you tick, and what may be holding you back. We’ll define a vision for your life and layout action steps and goals to turn that vision into reality. If you do not create your life, life will create you. So, finally, we’ll take time to identify and create sustainable strategies, habits, and routines that will help you maintain a life that you love.
While working with me expect to:
• Dig deep to cultivate a greater sense of self-awareness
• Define a purpose and vision for your life and leadership
• Identify roadblocks to achieving your true potential
• Set practical, achievable goals to realize your dreams
• Develop habits, routines, and behaviors for balance and sustained success
• Take action to create a life that you love
Everyone needs someone to challenge and support them, to push them to grow and think bigger. That is why I am here, and it’s why I love working with my clients. We are in this together. If you’re the type to work hard and are passionate about living a life a purpose, I’d be honored to work with you. I’m confident that together we can uncover what is truly holding you back, followed up by a strategy that’ll turn your thoughts and ideas into a powerful, purposeful plan of action.
Let’s get to work!
“Frozen in fear. That seems to be where I was when I started talking with Jesse about my life. I was once a very confident man that was able to make decisions with ease and learn from my mistakes along the way. The past 10 years of my life it seems like I couldn’t decide what to do. I wasn’t happy. I hated my job. I felt stuck. Jesse helped me take small steps each day, encouraged me to read books about how others overcame their challenges, do more things that I enjoy and to reconnect with family and friends. I’ve since taken back control of my life. I sold my home. I’m getting my certified personal training certificate so I can help people get fit and better their lives. I’ll be moving to and seeking new employment in Florida, a place that I always wanted to live but never thought I would get there. I have confidence once again. I know that while the future holds many challenges I’m confident that I can take on those challenges and succeed. I feel like I have direction and I’m so happy about being able to move on with life setting goals, meeting new challenges and being able to help others along the way. This brings a great sense of pride and satisfaction to my life. The fear has passed.”
