Hi, I’m Shannon! I’m a certified Senior HR Professional with over 17 years of experience in the field. I’m also the mom of a seven year-old (and two dogs), a wife, a friend, a daughter, and above all, a champion of all things that empower us to continually be a “work in progress…” to never stop wanting to grow, to change, and to challenge ourselves to live a purpose-driven life.
I live in Arizona, which is where I’ve cultivated my career, working for and with non-profits, state government, and small to medium sized companies. I’ve specialized in and led talent acquisition, training, compensation, benefits, employee relations, and workforce management. I’ve recruited hundreds of people for positions at all levels, and across a wide spectrum of jobs, and helped many individuals figure out new and exciting career paths that were a great fit for their skills and talents.
I chose to work in human resources after completing an internship my senior year at Colorado State University. I love helping others succeed, and had planned on pursuing a career as a teacher or counselor. However, during my internship I found I enjoyed combining the human side with running a business. Creating cultures where employees feel respected, developed and just plain HAPPY at work motivates me, and helping individuals find that happiness remains my passion.
I’m thrilled to be a part of Ama La Vida, assisting clients through the Get That Job program. As an Interview and Resume Specialist, I’ll give you meaningful, actionable feedback that will allow you to land the coveted role you’re searching for. I’ll ask the hard questions, but my collaborative and supportive approach will help you feel confident and excited about your journey towards positive change!
