This is my story
I’m a Life and Career Coach at Ama La Vida. I was born and raised in the Bay Area and then headed south to attend UC Santa Barbara. After graduating, I relocated and spent several years living in San Francisco. California was clearly a hard place to leave!
During my time in San Francisco, I went through a large career transition of my own. I kicked off my career working as an auditor at a Big 4 Accounting firm, and quickly discovered that accounting was not my lifelong career. Through self-exploration and the support of a career coach, I transitioned into the Human Resources field. My love for people and supporting their happiness and fulfillment in the workplace made it an excellent fit.
I’ve been fortunate to gain a diverse range of Human Resources experience in the Silicon Valley tech space working in early- to late-stage start-ups. After working as a Recruiter, I transitioned to a Project Management role, where I implemented projects to improve the hiring process, candidate experience and the overall happiness of internal employees. Along with my coaching, I currently work in a remote role where I support start-ups to strategize and manage the hiring process for remote roles.
I have a passion for travel and exploring new cultures. Four years ago I went on a life-changing solo backpacking trip through Central America which inspired my move to Buenos Aires a year later. I made the move abroad to gain fluency in Spanish, grow and expand my mindset while immersing in a new culture. While working towards my coaching certification, I supported local candidates to navigate the job search process by providing resume writing assistance, interview support, and general guidance on job search best practices. During that time, I also created a fully remote career and lifestyle. I’m currently living out the digital nomad lifestyle throughout Latin America. My career transitions, experience as an HR professional, and life experiences traveling and living abroad have fueled my passion for helping others to find greater fulfillment. My mission as a coach is to help others empower themselves to take action and create the movement needed to find more fulfillment in their day-to-day. One lesson my journey has taught me is the ability to create change through movement. This can be from a small action step like updating a resume to making a significant move across the globe. I’m here to help equip others with the resources to build self-trust, confidence and feel empowered to make moves and create the changes they seek in their career and/or lifestyle.
I look forward to getting to know more about you and supporting you on your journey!
My Coaching Approach
I believe every individual is capable of creating the change needed to live the life they love with greater fulfillment. We often get so caught up in our busy schedules and the grind of life that we struggle to find the time and lose sight of our own needs.
I’m here to support you in finding the time to show up and empower yourself to create the movement needed to find more fulfillment in your day-day. I’ll bring kindness, compassion and a safe space to each session. I won’t be afraid to challenge you and offer the needed push as you work towards living out your best life. You have all of the answers within you. You just need to uncover those answers with guidance, support and accountability along the way.
When it comes to working with me as a coach, this is what you can expect:
Trust! This space is always a safe, judgment-free space where you can bring your authentic self to every session with full honesty and openness. Everything that is shared is highly confidential and your best interests are always top of mind.
To feel valued and heard. I will always be listening. I will listen to your needs and will adjust the process (if necessary) to what works best for you. While we have a standard process, every individual is different. I’ll be sure that you always feel heard and valued so that your coaching journey is customized to how you thrive.
Accountability & Action. I will support you as you transform your goals into action. I will be there to check-in and hold you accountable, offer encouragement and the extra push when needed and most importantly, celebrate your wins!

What my clients are saying
“Ama la Vida has changed my life in such a short amount of time. My coach (Kristin) always say that it’s the client that does the work, but hats off to them for providing the space, tools and questions to make these changes happen. I’ll be back soon!” Melysia C.
“Kristin has supported me in making some big decisions in the last few months, including moving to a new city and reconsidering my career path. She has coached me through negotiating an improved package in a new role and personally navigating the turbulence of a pandemic. Kristin has a knack of asking questions to get me to reflect on old problems in new ways, she keeps me focussed when I wander off topic and has a knack of reflecting back my own words in such a way as to reveal things I don’t even realise I’ve said. Her manner is patient and kind and I have always felt safe discussing life and career decisions with her during a period of great personal and global uncertainty. ” Philippa F.
“I highly recommend Kristin Vierra to anyone who thinks they might need a little help or advice navigating career and life transitions. Her style blends big-picture questions with practical advice, like a therapist who edits your resume. You’ll come out of a session with Kristin feeling positive, with a list of next steps and edited deliverables, and she’ll keep you accountable as you work toward your goals. Bonus – Kristin has deep expertise in remote work, a transition many of us suddenly found ourselves navigating in 2020, which will continue to influence the future of work. Kristin also happens to be an empathetic and all-around awesome person who has made some pretty amazing leaps of her own, traveling the world and inspiring others. Thanks, Kristin!” Meghan M.
“I have thoroughly, thoroughly enjoyed working with Kristin and ALV. The modules have been a very helpful exercise to align thinking. Kristin has been so supportive, helpful, and thoughtful as I work through my journey of self discovery. This is great career coaching and great value!” Daniel S.
“I had a great experience with ALV , Brittny Arnold was great and helped find the right fit in coach Kristin Vierra. Kristin was very good, helped me with my resume and gave me some really great tips. She understood my needs, my shortcoming and issues and helped me to gain confidence and present myself at my best. The mock interview round was very helpful , she recorded it and then gave me feedback on every aspect. It was an eye opener and clearly helped me see where I needed improvement . I have benefited greatly with ALV the online content and interview modules are very good too!. Overall this was money very well spent.” Shamini N.
“Kristin is an amazing coach who is supportive but also keeps me accountable, She is great at asking questions to make me think in a different way. I have done career coaching before but feel I made so much more progress this time. Kristin doesn’t use a one size fits all approach and was very flexible to adapt to my situation. Thank you Kristin for your support and wisdom.” Molly T.
