This is my story
I believe that our career is a journey. I have found that careers are typically not a straight line with a final destination, but many careers involve zig zags and unexpected changes. I believe that what lights us up as an individual may change over the course of time and we can reflect and obtain skills and habits to be prepared for changes that arise in our career.
I personally have been a coach for the majority of my career. I have also been a sales professional, have taught English abroad, have worked in the university setting, at a start-up, have owned my own business, and have worked in some international consulting companies. I have held individual contributor roles all the way to Director-level roles and I have also worked in a portfolio career, working in two or more jobs at one time.
With all of these experiences, some clients I commonly partner with fall into one or more of these categories:
- Seeking to be a part of a new industry or a new role, but are not sure how to get there.
- Are looking for a career change and also want to get paid what you are worth.
- Are wondering if you should be in a full-time, salaried corporate role, a start-up, in a portfolio career, or would like to own your own business.
- You are a newer graduate up to a mid-career professional wondering what the next best step in your career may be.
- Are looking to have a career in which you enjoy going to work each day while also having a balance in life that works best for you.
- You are a career professional looking to further develop in your career and reach new career heights by identifying how to uplevel and obtain the next new role as a manager or individual contributor or to contribute even more at what you currently do.
My Coaching Approach
I coach through empathy and deep listening while using a balance of logic and intuition and meeting clients where they are right now.
I appreciate partnering with clients who are open to reflecting on where they have been and where they want to be, understanding their strengths and what lights them up, while also recognizing what we can and cannot control in our lives to allow for optimal momentum in our life and career path. I look forward to partnering with you if you resonate with what I am sharing!
What my clients say
“I was very fortunate to have Laura as a career consultant last year when I was transitioning career trajectories. Her diverse skillset and attention to detail quickly pinpointed the unique action points that needed to be taken to leverage my career. Laura was very adept at listening to my situation, understanding my industry (health and biotech), and identifying pathways for me to network in a highly technical trade.
I continue to heed Laura’s words of advice and continue to apply her teachings to strengthen my abilities in my current executive position. Any person looking to bolster their market potential would be very lucky to have Laura coaching them!” – Mallory G., Chief Technology Officer at Hollison
“Over the past few months, I have had the pleasure of working with Laura as my career coach throughout my career transition from finance to tech. She is diligent, passionate, and strategic as a career coach and has a great grasp on the complexities of the current job market, and is not afraid to dive deep to understand her client’s pain points, motivation, and strengths and weaknesses. She is a fantastic communicator and listener and will empower you to execute on small yet mighty course of actions that compound greatly. Though her excellence is exemplified in her work, it is her character and dedication to bring out the best of us that makes me proud to have her in my corner.” – Douglas L.
