This is my story
Hey! I’m Jillian, and I’m the Marketing Content Manager with Ama La Vida. It’s so nice to virtually meet you, and I’m excited to introduce myself here. 🤗
My passion is creating incredible digital experiences for our clients and community members, and I’m so grateful that I get to do that with ALV.
The wellness space has always been important to me as my life’s journey started in healthcare working as an Ophthalmic Technician (for nearly a decade). While I loved our patients and found great purpose in taking care of community in those ways, I became very unsatisfied with the industry, my role and I knew I needed a change.
When you feel miserable even stepping foot in the door of the office… you know it’s time to leave…
…and so I did…
…I took one of the biggest risks I had ever made and it changed my life forever.
At the time, I had been studying social media strategy and the week I decided to put together my first (ever) digital portfolio, a seasonal opportunity for my dream job landed in my inbox. (Talk about manifesting…)
I applied – giving my resume, cover letter and portfolio everything I had – and to my surprise I was offered the job.
Unsure what I’d be doing, or where I’d be going after the season was over, I decided to leave my “cushy” stable job (that made me miserable) and follow my heart into the unknown…
…since then, I’ve had the privilege of working with nonprofit organizations, a television production company, and powerful femme & womxn-owned businesses over the last 6 years, and I am grateful to be with an organization who’s mission is to help you love your life.
Looking back, I can see that every step I’ve been taking has brought me closer to a life I love.
My priority in all of my work centers community at the heart, and I lead from a place that serves our community in the ways they need and are requesting. My goal is to help you feel welcome, safe and brave in our spaces (especially when visiting us online 💕).
