How a year of coaching can totally transform your life

Achieving Goals

What is Life Coaching

If you’re a go-getter with big dreams, but haven’t seen success yet, life coaching is for you! If you’re someone with big goals, but are lacking the know-how and accountability to execute, you’re in good company. It is totally normal to set goals and then, somehow, they fall flat on the execution. But just because it’s normal, doesn’t mean that’s where you stay, and that’s where a coach comes in to help transform your life.

Together with your coach, you’ll work hand-in-hand to realize your full and true potential. You’ll focus on creating achievable goals and taking action to create success. Your coach will act as a mirror to increase your self-awareness and a non-biased sounding board to help you address the problems and obstacles you face. Even if you’ve seen success in one area of your life, sometimes there are other goals that have eluded you. And perhaps most importantly, your coach will be an accountability partner holding you to your goals and deadlines so you can maximize your happiness and success.

A Year with a Life Coach

Whether you are ready to define your life vision, establish new routines, build relationships, or develop confidence, a life coach can help transform your life! Some other things that clients come to us for are: managing transitions, creating work-life balance, working on courage, identifying what derails you, reframing negative self-talk, and increasing your self-worth. Below are a couple major ways that career coaching can help with this.

1. Vision

A vision is thinking about your future, who you want to be, what you’ll do, and how to get there. That can sound really daunting, especially if you’re doing it alone. A life coach can help transform your life by coming in and providing clarity to the things that are important to you, the difference you want to make, and how to get there. Is it being more confident? Having really deep friendships? Learning how to navigate conflict? Getting better work-life balance? Together, we will work to establish your vision for your best future self, then figure out how to get there. That leads us to EPIC goals!

2. EPIC Goals

Goals can be exciting, but they can also be intimidating and overwhelming. It’s easy to feel aimless, especially if you don’t know how or why you want to accomplish them. EPIC stands for Elevating, Practical, Impactful, and Clear. This goal setting tactic ensures that your goals are meaningful and effective. When these elements are combined with action steps and accountability, you see immense results. Working with your life coach to use each piece effectively will provide you with a compass as you navigate down your journey to accomplishment and help you transform your life. As your coach, we want to make sure that you feel confident in your goals, as well as going after them.

3. Creating a Roadmap

Once we determine what your goals are, that’s when the roadmap comes in. You know your vision, you know your goals, now we need to figure out how to achieve them. Milestones are helpful in creating small, interim steps to achieve your overarching, larger goal. It’s important to establish and take the small steps so you don’t get overwhelmed or stuck. And these smaller, broken-down steps lead to achieving your larger goals. You and your coach will create those milestones together to ensure you are on your path to achieving your goals, and your vision of who you want to be.

4. Accountability

You know your goals and have your roadmap now. Great! But keeping your goals in mind can be hard, and setting new goals to take your vision to the next level isn’t always on your mind. There are distractions everywhere! A career coach provides accountability to ensure that you are doing the things you say you want to do. This can look like email check-ins, creating a plan to have your own personal accountability, or even talking about why you didn’t do something you said you wanted to do. This accountability ensures that you are moving in your desired direction to ensure that you are achieving your ultimate goal.

Maximize This Upcoming Year

Working with a coach for a year can totally transform your life. Maybe this last year didn’t go as you planned, but that doesn’t mean that next year has to be a lost cause. It can be easy to lose focus when the world looks so different, your goals have gone off track, or you’ve lost accountability. But more is in your control than you think. Rather than setting a resolution you’ll forget about, commit to yourself!
